The Suppliers Information Management and Sales Monitoring System (SIMSMS) is a comprehensive, web-based data management tool proposed by the Bureau of Market Development, Promotions, and OTOP (BMDPO) to address the limitations of the current database setup. SIM-SMS is designed to integrate and manage extensive supplier and buyer information, offering precise, real-time data and advanced analytics through a user-friendly interface. The system specifically meets stakeholders’ needs for reliable market information and addresses persistent issues related to data accuracy, timeliness, and reporting. This project was initiated by the DTI BMDPO in collaboration with the DTI Information and Systems Management Service (ISMS).

The SIM-SMS can be accessed by the authorized DTI Bureau of Market Development, Promotions, and OTOP (BMDPO) staff, DTI Regional and Provincial Trade Promotion Officers (TPO), and the DTI Information Systems Management Service (ISMS). Access level vary depending on the roles. (i.e. admin, editor, etc.)

The main purpose of developing the DTI SIMS-SMS is to centralize supplier and buyer data, automate events and sales monitoring, improve supplier-buyer matchmaking and generate accurate and real-time reports.

The system will merge existing databases into a single platform, using APIs and bulk uploads to import sanitized and validated data in a standard format.

"Supplier registration has 2 approaches:
1. Endorsed by the DTI Regional Trade Promotion Officers - Since every National Fair, the regions endorse their MSMEs to join/participate in the National Fair. The link to register in the DTI SIM-SMS will be sent to the endorsed MSMEs, requiring them to create their account. RTPOs to check account registration.
2. For MSMEs not endorsed by regions - Will also require creating an account, subject to review and approval of the DTI BMDPO and Regional Trade Promotion Officers."
